Cross-Divisional Clash

I wanted to point out an interesting little tidbit before I start my recap, no more league switching as of now. You're stuck with the team you're currently with, good luck ladies and gentlemen I hope you made the right choice. Also note, week 10 is the last week to have new players join up. There are a few intriguing outcomes from last week I would like to discuss. The most interesting team is FR, they were brushed aside by ICA and it's hard for me to determine what their worth is anymore. They've had only two challenging match-ups thus far and have failed miserably. What will happen this week for FR? Hopefully it isn't a repeat of week 6 but we get to find out soon... SPS stepped up this week, sure two games were credits but they won regardless. DS played about as well as I expected, one game was a timer win for LPL, Chele needs to be more careful calling players. Careless captaining could be one of the minor reasons DS is sitting near last place :(. PFN opened a can of whoop-ass week 6 shellacking T8B 6-0, it isn't much of a surprise PFN has been acquiring a team that on a good day can beat anyone.

Cross-Divisional Record:
Eastern: 6 wins Western: 8 wins

Cross-Divisional Match-ups
-----
FR vs BNR, Monday @6pm, Room: Beetle Spot

FR lost a KEY match last week vs ICA they are now setting in 3rd. Corey needs to show this week with a serious team if he wants to win against BNR. FR showed with what looked like backups last week. Sure it's good to get players eligible for the playoffs but you cant expect a win against an undefeated team with your backups. ICA threw salt in FR's wound last week, don't expect Corey to come out with his tail between his legs this week. Hopefully Corey learned his lesson, I say he brings his big boys and we get to watch a thrilling match.

BNR can do no wrong. They are sitting at 6-0, they throw in whoever they want and win. Stu "retiring" is going to hurt BNR though. He was a corner-stone on their team. I don't expect a huge problem though they still have the Shark, Cerebro, and Lucky. That's 3 wins right there and one of those guys can carry ftw! Ross will bring a crew that will hold up strong vs the weaker FR team but I think we will see a SHOCKER, the underdog takes it!!
Outcome: 4-2 FR

T8B vs SPS, Wednesday @7pm, Room: Afraid to Lose

This is a key week for Jordy, he has been burned almost every week thus far. Going into the back stretch he needs to step it up. His team is 4 games out with 7 to go... If he doesn't start picking up wins he is doomed. I know that sooner or later they will start picking up some wins and this is their best chance.

Jason has done well in WSOP. He picked up a key win last week vs MIB evening up the records. SPS has showed with a full team every week and that is partially why they won last week. Jason smells the playoffs and with this weeks win he could take the lead on MIB. This match will be close, the skill-level is even but Jordy shows with 5 and lose a close one.
Outcome: 4-2 SPS

DS vs MIB, Thursday @6pm, Room: A Face in the Crowd

Chele, this is the time to win! MIB came in last week with only 4 players. DS shows week in and week out with a full team, Chele does well to bring a team to the table she just needs to work on calling them. Sometimes it's better to put a team timer on waiting to get a hold of a player than to call someone that will timer out. Careless decisions like that are partially why DS aren't reaching the next level. I hear she has a new player... With any luck this player will preform well.

Rich it seems has given up on WSOP. Showing with 4 players in a match that was key is sad. He needed to win vs SPS to shut them out of the playoff spot MIB is currently holding. The door is now wide open and the vultures are smelling blood. IF Rich doesn't bring a full team this week it is certain he will lose his slim grip on the playoffs and spiral out of control.
Outcome: 4-2 DS

Western Divisional Match-up
-----
LPL vs ICA, Tuesday @7pm, Room: Under Pressure

LPL has had some interesting things happen to them recently. Anthony stepping down from captain and then leaving ypool all together was quite intriguing. The reasons behind it are unknown to me but it will certainly be a big factor in LPL's future. I don't think they will win this match ICA is too strong for LPL in WSOP.

Shan and Nish have done well for ICA. Destroying FR last week has put them one step closer to sealing up 1st seed going into the playoffs. Nish, Shan, Trey, Craig, and more are a deadly threat. It's interesting though, none of those players listed will blow you away on the table but somehow they have gotten the job done. With a 6-0 record the back stretch doesn't look too grueling for ICA, watch out BNR you guys are going to have your hands full in WSOP finals =D. Hopefully I didn't jinx you ICA, besides a good ole jinx nothing can stop ICA.
Outcome: 4-2 ICA

Eastern Divisional Match-up
-----
DPP vs PFN, Wednesday @6pm, Room: I'm Gonna Crawl

Well DPP has fallen far from their name. They haven't brought enough players to be dangerous in WSOP and it will not continue this week. A birdie told me that the 2nd have will not have DPP in it. Tom has given up on his league and the WSOP admins have as well. PFN wins this with 6 credits, sorry for the waste of time =(.
Outcome: 6-0 PFN

Westerners Smashing Heads

Well last week turned out like I had thought, not nearly as interesting as previous weeks. One match reached game 7 and the victor has setup a very intriguing week 6. I of course am talking about FR defeating T8B. T8B had their chances with a not-so-stacked FR team to deal with, T8B stretched the match all the way to game 7 and with a couple breaks here and there they could have actually won. In the end Petey clinched the match and proved why FR are a force to be reckoned with. I also wanted to note how disappointing SPS was this week after I hyped up their BNR match only to find them losing 5-1 to what could be called BNR's 2nd string. I am sure Jason will rebound this week. He needs this upcoming match if he wants a sure-shot at making the playoffs this season. As I have noted above with FR's timely win we have ICA and FR, Western heavy-weights going pound for pound; winner takes all, well, bragging rights at the least ha ha.

Cross-Divisional Record:
Eastern: 5 wins Western: 8 wins

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Western Divisional Match-ups
----------
FR vs ICA, Monday @6pm, Room: Beetle Spot

Here we have it. The very first KEY match-up for these two teams. ICA are currently smashing the record books with an amazing 5-0 record sitting atop the high powered Western Division. It's truly remarkable how well they are preforming. Nish has done wonders, bringing in such a strong team. So far ICA has had smooth sailing besides their very challenging match-up with PFN, look for another outcome similar to that match this week. I am positive Nish will do well calling his players at just the right time, he clearly knows what playing order suits the situation.

I hope Corey shows for this match. Last week he didn't and it almost cost FR. Some how Ebs pulled off the duties in his place. Petey cant be left out of this, he carried quite nicely when his team disparately needed him. Look to see FR bring their big boys for this match, with any luck home-field plays a factor but I highly doubt it. ICA have such a strong lineup from top to bottom and haven't shown a crack in their armor yet. FR have only lost one match though against a very strong LPL team. This match will go down to the wire and will prove to everyone why the Western Division is just a tad bit stronger than their Eastern counter-parts.
Outcome: 4-3 ICA

DS vs LPL, Thursday @7pm, Room: A Face in the Crowd

Chele it seems like every week you fall short. You have had a very rough season thus far. It pains me to say it but, if you guys don't win now it is almost certain you will be stuck in the murky abyss till next season rolls around. Of course there is still a lot of fun games left for you guys, but the playoffs are almost out of reach. If you guys are lucky LPL might show without a full lineup.

Ant has kept his team afloat here in WSOP. LPL doesn't have the luxury of toting around their MLP lineup but LPL has still done a sufficient job securing a strong grasp on the last playoff spot. After you get outside of the top 3 there really isn't much left of the Western Division. Do not under-estimate them like you did MIB and SPS. This match has the potential of being close but with sheer will Ant will prevail.
Outcome: 4-2 LPL

Eastern Divisional Match-ups
----------
SPS vs MIB, Wednesday @6pm, Room: Sweet Jane

This match will prove why SPS deserves the new-found respect I have been giving them. Sure Jason under-performed when it was key for him to step-up. He has another chance this week to prove that SPS aren't just hot air. The players he can bring to the table need to preform, MIB will not blow you away but they have a tendency to finish a run or two and keep the match close. Jason needs to use home-field to his advantage this week, if they do not win this match it's almost certain they will not get another chance like this. Play this game very carefully Jason SPS is treading water, I am certain this situation wouldn't be so dire-sum if you weren't stuck with SP's 0-3 record.

Rich you lost Eddie who was playing so well for MIB. Losing Eddie will be the reason you are going into this match as the underdog. It isn't always bad to come into the match as the underdog, everyone roots for you, the only problem is.... you no longer have the depth to contend here. When you matched up with LPL you had a number of up-and-coming players, now that you have lost at least one it isn't looking good. You're going to fall short this week, SPS rebounds after a rough BNR loss.
Outcome: 4-2 SPS

DPP vs BNR, Monday @6pm, Room: I'm Gonna Crawl

DPP is just way out of their comfort-zone in this inter-league. They haven't been able to show with even 4 players thus far, heck... This might be the week they show with a full team but don't get too hopeful. Dina and Ross get a couple credits to various players and close the book on this match game 1.
Outcome: 6-0 BNR

Cross-Divisional Match-up
----------
PFN vs T8B, Thursday @6pm, Room: Bad Times

Andy has done a great job in WSOP, sure they started off a bit rocky but they have also had some rough goings. PFN has had one of thee toughest schedules in WSOP and have come out of thus far holding onto 2nd seed. This match will be no trouble for Andy, he will bring 3 subs and get as many players eligible for the playoffs as possible. Andy does a great job setting up for the playoffs and this will be a good time to do so.

Jordy, you keep getting rough breaks here in WSOP. With a couple lucky breaks your team could easily be in playoff contention. The depth is lacking though and it shows when you continuously lose close matches. This will be another close loss, not nearly as close as last week but you will show that T8B aren't pushovers.
Outcome: 4-2 PFN

Dull Week Ahead?

This week on the surface has the probable outcome of being very drab. I'm more excited about rehashing last weeks epic fail by LPL than diving into this weeks matches. SPS came out surprisingly strong this last week in a match that ended with their first victory in WSOP. Jason did a great job captaining and has fielded a very strong team. I wouldn't count them out of this weeks challenging match-up against BNR. Sure Ant doesn't field as strong of a team for WSOP as he does for MLP or PRO but he still has the desire to win. I think he over-looked SPS, they have been known to fail a table clearing run often so maybe they weren't taken serious. I don't foresee Ant making that mistake again though. SPS will come into week 5 one game out of the playoff hunt, IF they can field the team Jason has talked up so emphatically I wouldn't be shocked if BNR lose their first match this week. The match between BNR and SPS has the potential to turn this drab week around but besides that match everything else is fairly predictable.

Cross-Divisional Record:
Eastern: 5 wins Western: 7 wins

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eastern Divisional Match-ups
BNR vs SPS, Monday @7pm, Room: Welcome to the Jungle

Dina has done a marvelous job with her team thus far. She has put a epic team together and they are currently sharing the best record in WSOP with another great team in ICA. I can continue talking up BNR because there really isn't a bad thing to say about this team but I think we all know these facts so why point out the obvious? All I have to say is, don't count your chickens before they hatch Dina, this match is deceiving...

SPS might be sitting at 1-3 but they took on SP's 0-3 record so in reality SPS is one of three undefeated teams in WSOP. Jason's team put together a mighty effort defeating Ant's team and has proven they can not be taken lightly in this inter league. Dina might field a stronger team than LPL but word has it they aren't bringing all their big names this week. Jason has some cards up his sleeve, look to see his team finish some tables and make this match go all the way to game 7.
Outcome: 4-3 BNR

MIB vs PFN, Thursday @6pm, Room: Back to School

I hope Rich has handled his in-house issues generated from a week 3 decision to call himself over 2 better players in a decisive game 7 that resulted in a loss for MIB. Rich has a track record of pissing off teammates. Eddie had a huge outcry during the aforementioned match and also in the past Rich had a falling-out with Pommy. With all this tension in the air could it spoil this match for MIB? Will Rich be able to prove he is worthy of the #2 seed in the division? I guess you have to show up to find out...

Andy, Andy, Andy... What the heck is going on? You're team is sitting in 3rd place are you aware of this annoying fact? What is your game plan to rectify the situation? I know you have a player or 2 up your sleeve, I wish I was more patient but I want to know NOW. Spill the BEANS Andy ;;). All of these questions aside, Andy doesn't need hidden talent to win this match. PFN will have no trouble this week in their match and will recover nicely from a tragic defeat at the hands of BNR.
Outcome: 4-2PFN

Western Divisional Match-up
ICA vs DS, Wednesday @7pm, Room: Intermediate Lounge 2

ICA are on FIRE, coming off a easy 6-0 win last week vs DPP should follow them through to another strong victory this week against DS. Nish is carrying his team, sitting on top with a 4-0 record, followed by Shan and Craig. ICA is dangerous, good luck DS you're going to need it against a top notch team like this.

DS has had a rough going this season. Chele has been burned every week except the freebie week 3. I always hope for the best with this team but they just don't have the depth as I stated last week. I don't think DS will pose much of a problem for ICA this week it should be smooth sailing.
Outcome: 4-2ICA

T8B vs FR, Wednesday @7pm, Room: Afraid to Lose

Jordy is yet another one of those sad stories in WSOP. They have just been falling short since week 2. They lack the depth that teams like BNR, PFN, ICA, and FR have. I foresee a very long season for Jordy but he is getting used to that. He has great skill and would be welcomed by any team but for some reason he chooses to play for the underdog. He just cant get the players to follow him that he desperately needs to win his matches. Just 1 or 2 strong players and this team goes from last place to 3rd place.

FR need this key win to keep some space between them and LPL. Odds are high Corey cant show for this match so I would then assume Petey runs the show. Petey has done a great job in his career as a captain when he can bring a full team to the table. With the depth FR have this season Petey will have no problem closing this match out sooner then the score will show.
Outcome: 4-2 FR

Cross-Divisional Match-up
LPL vs DPP, Tuesday @7pm, Room: Under Pressure

This will be simple for LPL, this will have exactly the same outcome as last weeks DPP match. Ant picks his 4 credits and 2 players get to walk all over DPP's overwhelmed team.
Outcome: 6-0LPL

New Crew

Well here we go again, another week long gone and yet another arriving. WSOP welcomes a new crew to the scene this week with the approved takeover of SP's stats, SPS joins the Eastern division. There are many good things about SPS: they always show with a full team, they have great sportsmanship, and they try there best every week. I look forward to seeing them try to dig there way out of SP's hole and possibly steal MIB's playoff spot before this season ends. Enough with SPS it's time for a recap of last week.

BNR thumped T8B 6-0, no surprise here, Dina has a very strong team and are one of the favorites to take the cup this season. The PFN/ICA match was a heated one, one player was boxed and another was given a heeded warning. The result of that match was ICA squeaking out a win in game 7. Look to see a very controversial match-up later in the season when ICA and PFN meet again. FR got a freebie win due to the withdrawal of SP. MIB almost shocked LPL this week in a very close game 7. Travis almost lost to Rich who barely missed a bank on the 8, in the end, LPL won the match and showed that the Western division is a tad bit stronger than the Eastern division. The very last match of the week was DPP vs DS and it wasn't very interesting, DPP went three weeks in a row without showing with a full 6 players.
Cross-Divisional Records:
Eastern-3 wins Western-6 wins

Without further ado, on with the predictions...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eastern Division Match-up
PFN vs BNR, Thursday @7pm, Room: Bad Times

This is by far the most exciting match of the week because these 2 teams are power-houses and have a long history of battling each other in the playoffs. Andy needs to show with his big guns this week, PFN got handed a tough loss by ICA and need to rebound to get even with BNR. PFN doesn't want to fall 2 games back on BNR so this will be a key game for them. If they win they take the head-to-head advantage and even up the records. Home-field might be a factor but I'm thinking with BNR's depth it might just nullify Andy's slim advantage.

Dina has shown with her strongest players week-in and week-out. This will be her first challenging match-up in WSOP and it will be interesting to see how her team holds up against such tough competitors. Hopefully BNR take this game seriously because if they don't I wouldn't be surprised if PFN slip away with this game. Does Dina have the determination to withstand Andy's onslaught of players? I think so...

Outcome: 4-3 BNR

Western Division Match-up
DS vs FR, Thursday @6pm, Room: A Face in the Crowd

Chele has put her best effort into this inter-league. I have much respect for her, she is just one player away from really having a shot at making a playoff run. That aside, she has amazing sportsmanship and great player personnel ability. The sad thing is, she just doesn't have the depth stated above. Look to see her show and use her home-field advantage to keep this match close.

Corey has the most depth in WSOP, players like Tonz, Ben, James, Petey, Ashie, and much more you could easily give him the win here. I don't think he will have a problem showing with a full team. The only issue for Corey is that he has had easy credit wins 2 out of the last 3 weeks; this week will be a key gauge as to where FR stands in the playoff picture at the end of the season. Credits aren't going to get you a playoff win Corey so watch out!
Outcome: 4-3 FR

Cross-Divisional Match-ups
DPP vs ICA, Tuesday @7pm, Room: I'm Gonna Crawl

This match will be simple, look to see Tom show with 2 players. He might split the w/l with the two that show but that will be it.

Nish get's to list off 4 credits and have 2 players play. Will his team be mad they don't all get to play this week? who will he choose to play? all that effort to get eligible and most wont get to play. This week will be easy for ICA none-the-less and setup a interesting match-up next week with DS.
Outcome: 6-0 ICA

SPS vs LPL, Wednesday @7pm, Room: Sweet Jane

Monte steps into WSOP with a very tough match-up this week. He needs to play this match very defensively. LPL will try to run this match out and SPS needs to sit back and snook, play safely and you just might put yourselves in MIB's spot. Last week MIB almost beat LPL, if you guys can hold off the temptation of trying to early run-out the table you guys just might win this match.

Ant has done well thus far and in my opinion should be sitting in 2nd right now. FR has had 2 credit wins thus far and would most likely be in 3rd if that wasn't the case. LPL need to take this game seriously though, if you guys over-look SPS like you did MIB don't be surprised if you end up in another game 7.
Outcome: 4-2 LPL

T8B vs MIB, Thursday @7pm, Room: Afraid to Lose

Jordy has put his best effort into this team but he is in another situation similar to DS, he just doesn't have the depth to contend with the rest of the league. When matching up against the likes of ICA and PFN you can't expect to win that with only 2 to 3 solid players. This week could be different though. T8B match-up about evenly with MIB so I can foresee a long match here.

Rich, you're looking at another game 7 this week and hopefully Eddie still wants to play for you. There was a controversial decision by Rich last week, he called himself over Eddie or Talent who both are by far better than he is. Don't worry about offending players here, if you want to win call your best that's the name of the game. There are no ties in WSOP and you need to put your A-team in if you really want to hold off SPS.
Outcome:4-3 MIB
