WSOP What?

Ben and James are starting a new inter-league. I was asked to take part in their attempt to be the only IL to match MLP's stature. WSOP will have a tough road to succeed with this goal. I had a short chat with James recently, I fired a few questions at him I thought everyone might be curious about. Here we go...

What is WSOP all about? James: Well, it's a 6v6 no tie intrlg meaning if the match is at 3-3 the captains of each team call one of their winners to play a tiebreaker. There wont be a confusing points system to worry about.

When will WSOP start? James: WSOP has a uncertain start date at the moment, once apps are received a date will then be decided upon.

Who will be admins? James: Ben and I have a rough idea, but are choosing to keep our staff undisclosed tell a realistic start date is set.

Will there be drama in WSOP? James: Most likely yes, of course we are going to strive to run this league drama-free but in any case, drama always pokes its ugly head. I think we will keep it to a minimum.

Will there be bias? James: Ben and I are looking to be as fair to all as humanly possible. You have our assurance that our decisions are going to reflect the arguments and documents presented to us. If there is a dispute it will be resolved in a timely manner. Both parties will hear from us as well.

Are there any rules not posted? James: Yes there are a number of rules not posted yet. The playoff rules will be determined once the number of players in WSOP are confirmed and will be amended into the current rules. Another rule Ben and I have debated on is a 60 second timer for each shot during WSOP matches. We decided to have a captain vote, since the teams are not currently set that decision will be made before the season starts.

How many leagues are you looking to have? James: That is a good question, there aren't as many upstanding leagues out there anymore. We would love to have leagues that run tournies on a regular basis and/or provide more competition for the rest of the leagues. There are a few good teams willing to join already, their apps are certainly accepted and will give any leagues that are thinking about joining a run for their money. Back to the question at hand, the ideal amount would be 12... I wanted to run a two group intrlrg with 2 matches against each opp in your div + 2 matches each vs 2 opps in the other div. If you remember, MLP ran that format last season.

Is there anything else that might be interesting to note? James: Yes, I am hoping we end up with 2 div's so that WSOP can have a all-stars that really matters. Ben and I wanted to run it div vs div, the winning div in the all-star match gets home field in the championship match regardless of win/loss. If you have ever seen American baseball, this rule is similar to the their all-star game.

May I put a poll up so everyone can have a say in the 60 second rule? James: Sure, I would gladly listen to what everyone's opinions are

When will the site be finished? James: I am not quite sure, Ben is working on it as fast as possible. He does have school so expect it to be done somewhere within the next 2 weeks. The ideal start date would be just before Summer hits but its a tentative date that could possibly be moved up/back depending on the demand.

I cant think of anything else right now, thanks for your time James and I wish you the best of luck!! I will be here weekly with my predictions
. James: YW, I appreciate your interest and dedication I look forward to a very exciting 1st season in WSOP.

YOU HEARD IT FIRST HERE YPOOL!!! Put your apps in, lets make this IL one of the best out there!!!
